Excel Engineering, Inc. is seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated individual for a Construction Inspector/Observer position.

We offer full service Electrical, Controls System Engineering, and Construction Management services in the US and abroad.

Primary Responsibilities

• Acts as a Construction Observer on Substation and/or Transmission Line construction projects performed by contractors.
• Verifies all work performed by the prime construction contractor complies with client construction standards and the engineering prints.
• Captures any field changes to the design.
• Helps contractor answer questions on drawings, request information from engineering, coordinating, and sign off on material deliveries
• Ensures the constructor uses the proper materials in the proper place on the Project.
• Shall take all precautions to protect the Company's equipment, materials and customers and be a good representative for the Company.

Additional Job Details

• Responsible for Inspections of installation work quality.
• Directs interaction with customers to ensure swift issue resolution and a positive customer experience.
• Investigates field concerns and technical questions that arise during deployment
• Provides training support.

Requirements

• Minimum of (5) or more years' experience in Field Construction activities related to Electric Utility Systems.
• Experience with ArcGIS
• Relevant experience in the Electrical Utilities Construction field
• Understanding of Electrical Drawings
• Understanding of Safe Work Practices
• Understanding of Electrical Working Clearances and identify Energized Components.
• Responsible for providing own transportation to perform the job.
• A strong construction background is required.
