About Our Client: she lives with her granddaughter in a beautiful Washoe Valley neighborhood. You will be providing respite care for her granddaughter who is her live-in caregiver, so consistency is a must. She will need a patient and experienced caregiver who is highly skilled in redirecting and navigating a dementia client who is resistant to having help in her home. The caregiver must demonstrate a particular strength in remaining on shift even when told by the client to leave. There may be down-time when the client wants to be left alone, that can be used for knitting, crossword puzzles, reading a book or another appropriate activity in order to respect the clients space without actually leaving the shift early. Duties:

• Provide compassionate assistance with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming while using gentle prompts to encourage participation.
• Engage our client in enjoyable activities she loves, such as light yard work or strolling around the store.
• Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes our clients well-being and independence.
• Maintain open communication with our clients family and healthcare team by keeping them informed of any changes or concerns.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in dementia care is essential, along with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others.
• Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor are key qualities we're looking for in our caregiver.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to accompany our client on outings/errands.
• Clear background check and drug screening.
