Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our team, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of medical documentation and coding for claims submission. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations, supporting a seamless process for patients and providers alike.

Remote Work:

This position offers the flexibility of remote work after completing an initial 2-4 week on-site training. While you can work from home once training is complete, we ask that you reside within the Portland, OR Metro Area to stay connected with the team. We also offer flexible work hours, allowing you to complete any 8-hour shift between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Location: Must reside in Washington or Oregon.
Experience: At least 1 year of professional coding experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
A minimum of 2 years of overall experience working in a healthcare environment.
Preferred: 2 years of experience in a healthcare facility.
Preferred: 1 year of professional coding and/or auditing experience, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Evaluation and Management (E&M), Procedural/Surgical coding, Emergency Department, or Anesthesia.
Familiarity with EpicCare or similar healthcare software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a solid understanding of medical terminology.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
Licenses and Certifications:

Coding Specialist Certificate, Professional Coder Certificate, Registered Health Information Administrator Certificate, Professional Medical Auditor Certificate, Coding Associate Certificate, Professional Coder Certificate - Apprentice, Registered Health Information Technician Certificate, or Coding Specialist Certificate - Physician-Based.
