Job Description Summary Process Engineering position associated with the manufacturing processes of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) parts for aircraft engines in a production environment. Will lead & focus on improvement projects and shop floor support for a product line in an assigned area. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role will have autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Self-directed judgment and drive will be required.
Job Description Job Responsibilities - Perform all related tasks for Tollgate, MRL & PRR NPI development.
- Plan, support and execute APQP requirements
- Create, propose & control project cost (budgets)
- Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment during trials, etc
- Improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
- Lead improvement projects from concept to completion & assure sustainment
- Collaborate with design engineering, operations, and quality to improve manufacturability and resolve issues
- Drive & lead/cycle time improvements
- Lead & support Low Rate and Full Rate Production
- Design & implement necessary equipment, tooling & fixtures for manufacturing development and process improvements
- Create, maintain & adhere to schedules to achieve business metrics/targets
- Apply in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
- Participate & Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action activity related to concerns that arise during the manufacturing process
- Listen to the voice on the floor, understand the problem and implement effective countermeasures & assure sustainability
- DFM proposals to Design Engineering with supporting data, proposing solutions and see implemented
- Manage projects related to manufacturing process enhancement
- Hands on problem solving & investigation

- Time allocation: manufacturing floor (50%), office (50%)

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining with production processes and equipment experience
Desired Characteristics - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience) in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology.
- 510 years of CNC machining experience with Production Processes and Equipment
- Proven equipment procurement (scope creation thru installation sustainment period)
- Proven root cause & corrective action (problem solving) experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to document, plan and execute improvement activities
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Cp/cpk/SPC experience
- Data driven decision making
- High ownership skills with ability to work with limited supervision
- Challenge the status quo
- Grinding experience
- PLC experience (Allen Bradley)
- Automation & robotics (Fanuc) experience
