Job Description

CALPAK is seeking an experienced Director of Brand Marketing to join our team! In this role, you will own CALPAK branding, influencer, social media, creative, press, partnerships, and overall brand presence. You will be responsible for elevating the brand direction and image, overseeing creative strategy, providing exceptional leadership to our current team, and working closely with leadership to carry on the brand vision and business objectives. The Director of Brand Marketing will lead in ensuring consistent brand message, content, and voice is carried out across all communication platforms, including digital, to secure a strong brand presence in the marketplace. This role manages the brand marketing team and creative team and reports to the Executive Director of Marketing. 

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute brand strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, and following through advertising, press, influencer, partnerships, experiential, and social media 
  • Set and own KPIs for marketing initiatives, leveraging data analytics to measure campaign success, inform future strategies, and optimize ROI; understand the objective of marketing campaigns and what they mean for our success and growth
  • Build and lead brand and campaign calendar to hit overall brand revenue and awareness goals
  • Build and lead reporting and analytics across all brand channels and own the performance of all relevant KPIs
  • Develop go-to-market documents, briefs, and communication plans for current and new products
  • Define market audience and positioning, customer segments, and audience analysis; optimize ways to communicate with these segments and create new audiences for acquisition
  • Ideate creative and innovative initiatives for unique brand storytelling through PR and other touchpoints to increase brand awareness and affinity
  • Develop annual and seasonal advertising campaigns designed to build brand awareness and new customer acquisition
  • Leverage market knowledge and data to identify new partner opportunities for brand and influencer
  • Lead and own brand messaging and copy surrounding goals for current and upcoming projects, ensuring brand messaging is consistent across all channels including site, social, ads, and press
  • Support all digital touchpoints including website, email marketing, digital advertising, loyalty programs, reviews, etc.
  • Ensure that creative team produces excellent creative assets with strategic direction for all brand campaigns and initiatives, product launches, and partnerships, and that it represents best-in-class content and storytelling
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with retention and acquisition/growth teams to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives
  • Fully own and manage the brand marketing and creative team
  • Build and manage vendor and agency relationships
  • Oversee and manage brand and creative budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources for maximum impact and return
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Foster a culture of innovation and teamwork to achieve common goals

Qualifications:

  • 9+ years brand strategy/marketing experience, preferably within a DTC brand
  • 5+ years of management experience, both in house direct reports as well as agencies
  • Capable of developing a clear strategic vision and effectively communicating throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive, problem-solving, self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Exceptional written, oral, and executive presentation skills
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • A keen eye for advertising creative
  • Experience with creative strategy and brand presence
  • Experience in reporting on brand awareness and top-funnel analytics
  • Will need to attend photoshoots, events, and activations, some of which may require travel
  • Must be able to commute to office in Gardena, California
