Development And Alumni Relations Coordinator

Under general supervision of the Senior Director of Development and Alumni Relations, serve as a member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office to provide coordination of development and alumni relations activities. Responsible for implementing non-complex programs, events and/or communications strategies designed to inform external constituencies of institutional programs, activities, policies, and practices. Coordinate stewardship program including personal contact with donors, review of data, written publications and correspondence. Provide annual fund and pipeline program support for annual appeals, including assistance with account set up and oversight. Provide organizational support for alumni events including annual class reunions. Provide website support and content updates and proofreading and editing of materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience using interpersonal and communication skills including tact and political acumen to effectively represent the institution, and maintain a high degree of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Experience in information/database management, organization, and execution.
  • Experience writing, editing, and proofreading basic communications to effectively respond in a professional manner.
  • Computer skills, experience working with bulk mailings.
  • Knowledge of donor stewardship and fundraising practices in higher education.
  • Knowledge of basic concepts and principles of building and maintaining effective relations with a variety of constituencies.
  • Organizational and event planning skill to manage workload assignments and meet prescribed deadlines.

  • Experience working in a university development/advancement setting.
  • Experience with University policies and principles.
  • Knowledge of the institution, its mission, vision, goals, achievements, policies, and infrastructure.

Department Overview


The UC Davis School of Law is consistently ranked among the premier law schools in the United States overall and in terms of faculty and student quality and diversity. The school has nearly 600 Juris Doctor (JD) students enrolled in the full-time 3-year program, as well as a LL.M Program, certificates in Public Service Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, Immigration Law, Intellectual Property Law and Tax Law, and Joint Degree programs, including JD/MBA, and JD/MA.


The budget for the Law School exceeds $40 million including state funds, tuition and professional fee revenue, gifts and endowments. Current market value of endowments exceeds $12 million. School facilities include 60,000 square feet in 3 buildings. The School has 40 active faculty and more than 100 staff.
