Job Description Summary Job Description The GE Aerospace's Military Contracts team is a critical team member, and a trusted and proactive business partner for the product lines within the business. Contracts is the face of GE Aerospace to our US and foreign Government acquisition and air-framer procurement customers. We are charged with cradle to grave contract management duties in all phases of a Program, from proposal strategy through the full development, production, and sustainment life cycle. The Contracts team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price, and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope management. As an enabler to the business, Contracts collaborates across multiple functions and is laser focused on achieving a business deal ensuring both GE and the customers' expectations are met.
The Contracts Operations Team is the backbone of the Contracts and Government Property Team providing advice, business solutions, addressing and communicating regulatory changes, performing data entry tasks, drafting and updating policies and procedures, maintaining clause libraries, handling data requests from the USG, remaining abreast of regulatory changes, and providing training on selected contracting topics both within and outside the team.
The Contracts Operations Manager is an individual contributor that develops standard, practical, and innovative contractual business and compliance processes that assists the Contracts Managers and the department meet our goals. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is generally defined in scope, utilize your contracts experience to enhance the contracting function affecting short and long-term business goals.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities - Interface with Contracts Managers in both the US and UK supporting their various military and civil contracting needs
- Support the Contracts staff on an ad-hoc basis during the acquisition lifecycle, including maintaining databases
- Maintain clause libraries
- Support AIA Meetings as part of the Contracts Management Committee
- Provide support to managers and senior contract personnel on assigned contracts
- Assume team leader responsibilities for assigned programs and special projects
- Reviewing and updating policies and procedures
- Responding to USG requests for data and reports
- Provide interface liaison with functional organizations and ensure proper communication of contractual requirements
- Review and standardize processes to ensure overall efficiency
- Ability to travel periodically
Qualifications/requirements - Bachelor's Degree preferably in a business curriculum, from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 7 years of contract formation and execution experience
- Experience managing both Firm Fixed Price and flexibly priced contracts, and commercial contracts
- Experience managing international contracts is a plus
Desired Characteristics - Knowledge of contract law and formation
- Demonstrated ability to take lead role in routine contracts
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
