LA seeks an energetic, highly organized and meticulous College Counseling Office Administrator with strong interpersonal skills that will allow for communication with a variety of constituents, including college representatives, parents, and faculty. Previous work experience in a college counseling or college admissions office and/or interest in secondary school environments and the college admissions profession is a plus. The position is a part-time, academic year position (25-30 hours per week). Reasonable flexibility concerning work hours is important and expected in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Submitting student credentials, transcripts, teacher recommendations, college counselor statements, and school profiles to colleges while maintaining and meeting strict deadlines.
• Maintaining and updating SCOIR, the college counseling software, for each student.
• Scheduling, confirming, and communicating with college representatives regarding visits to Lawrence Academy.
• Working with the Director of College Counseling, the Senior Associate Director of College Counseling and Associate Director of College Counseling on the coordination of office-sponsored events such as the Junior Class College Day and Senior College Workday.
• Working with college counselors on the management of the College Counseling Office Website and the Information Monitor in the College Counseling Office.
• Generating and maintaining accurate physical and digital student files that include accurate transcripts, test scores, and college correspondence.
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the College Counseling Office.
• Interacting with students, faculty, parents, alumni, Board of Trustees, and college representatives.
• Proof-reading all materials that are sent from the office including teacher recommendations and communications with families.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree is preferred, and/or 3 or more years of equivalent work experience in an academic, legal, or other professional setting.
• Prior work experience in college counseling is not required, though some knowledge of independent and/or boarding school life is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exemplary computer and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and related software applications.
• Meticulous attention to detail, accurate record-keeping skills.
• Demonstrated ability in handling confidential information discreetly.
• Proven success in organizing and prioritizing workload, multi-tasking, adapting quickly to change and delivering under tight deadlines.
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships.
