Under the general direction of the Environmental Program Manager I (EPM) within the Habitat Conservation Planning Branch (HCPB), the incumbent supervises the California Department of Technology (CDT) and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Environmental Review and Permitting Liaison Program at headquarters and manages the interagency agreements (IA) with Caltrans and CDT that support environmental review and permitting of CDT Middle-mile Broadband Network (MMBN) fiber optic infrastructure projects and Caltrans transportation projects. Incumbent coordinates with Caltrans and CDT to ensure compliance with IA contracted services, charges to the reimbursable contracts, and facilitates dispute resolution. Incumbent also coordinates with CDFW Regions, Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Branches, and Conservation Engineering to facilitate statewide consistency with policy implementation, regulations and statutes related to environmental review and permitting.

Class Title: Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory)
This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
If you currently have permanent status in your position and have passed probation, you have mandatory reinstatement rights into your former position at the end of this LT appointment. If you have not had prior permanent or probationary civil service status, you will be separated from state service.
